Your future workplace
The Swedish Forest Agency is looking for you who want to work as a forest consultant, primarily within the subject area of broadleaved forests. We are undergoing a generational shift and are therefore looking for a colleague for the Skåne district to strengthen our work specifically with broadleaved forest issues. You will have frequent contact with professionals in the forestry sector and landowners, as well as other forestry stakeholders and authorities.
As a forest consultant, you will have a job with varied and stimulating tasks, as well as ongoing competence development. You will be part of working groups with other experienced colleagues.
Responsibilities
You will primarily work with the processing of broadleaved forest permits and providing advice on broadleaved forest management. In addition, field inspections and assessments related to financial support for broadleaved forests are part of your duties. The tasks are performed both at the office and in the field.
Depending on your competence, focus, and the needs of the operations, other tasks may also become relevant. Examples of other tasks that may be included in the position are participating in other information and advisory activities, forest inventories, various internal projects, or in our commission-based operations. The work covers a larger geography than the home district (Skåne), so longer travel may be required.
Qualifications
You have a university degree in forestry or alternatively another relevant education with accompanying experience within our area of work. Relevant work experience is meritorious. We would like you to have experience of broadleaved forestry, forestry nature conservation issues, and knowledge of forest-dwelling species. Experience of exercising public authority and the Administrative Procedure Act is also meritorious, as are experience and knowledge of the Environmental Code and the Forestry Act. We value good knowledge of IT/GIS.
We place great importance on your personal qualities. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work well. You have good teamwork skills, are flexible, and have the ability to synthesize complex information. You take responsibility for ensuring that your cases are handled in a legally secure manner. You are communicative, pedagogical, and can conduct dialogue in a trustworthy manner, for example, in connection with authority decisions, with landowners, various actors, and stakeholders in the forestry sector.
You have a value base and integrity that allows you to identify with the requirements that the role as a state employee entails.
A category B driver's license is a requirement.
Our offer to you
We offer a permanent position at 100%, starting with a 6-month probationary period. The start date is as soon as possible or by agreement.
We apply individual salary setting, remote work agreements, and trust-based working hours. There is an opportunity to work from home to some extent.
The stationing is at our office in Hässleholm.
As it is currently holiday season, please leave a message if the person you are looking for is not in place; we will contact you when we are back.
Apply by August 16 at the latest.
