Do you want to cook food that makes a difference? With us, you will work in a wonderful team and prepare meals that brighten up the daily lives of our customers. If you are responsible and enjoy variety, this job is for you!
About the workplace
MatOmsorg, the meal organization for the Care and Elderly Care Administration, delivers food and meals to our operations 365 days a year! We are a team of 50 people working across four production kitchens, an office, and the city's care housing facility. We work towards the goal of offering meals that enhance quality of life and add a golden touch to our customers' daily lives.
We are looking for three chefs for different assignments: one for our production kitchen in Kungshult, one for the production of the daily meal box (dygnskasse), and one with some supervisory responsibility for our production kitchen in Kungshult.
What we offer
We welcome you to a group that enjoys taking responsibility, takes pride in delivering high and consistent quality, and thinks it is obvious to put the guest first – and who are also friendly! Our workplace is smoke-free and health-conscious, and you receive a wellness allowance of 3,000 SEK per year.
Job Responsibilities
Chef
You are part of a work team consisting of chefs, meal developers, and meal servers who together deliver approximately 2,700 meals per day. The work in the kitchen is led by the head chef, and tasks may vary between large-scale cooking, special diets, or consistency-adjusted meals. In addition, all other types of tasks performed in the kitchen are included, such as packing, portioning, cleaning, and dishwashing. The position includes weekend shifts.
Daily Meal Box (Dygnskasse)
You work with producing the daily meal box, which is an important part of preventing malnutrition among our customers in ordinary housing. Each daily meal box contains three nutritious main meals and three snacks per day. Delivery is done chilled twice a week to ensure good quality and food safety. Work takes place on weekdays during daytime.
Supervisory Role
Every other weekend, you are responsible for coordinating the work in the kitchen. The assignment involves planning and distributing tasks, following up that routines are followed, and being a support for colleagues during shifts. The supervisory responsibility is limited to weekend shifts and is combined with regular production tasks on other working days.
Qualifications
You must be a trained chef with broad knowledge, preferably with a few years of experience from both the private and public sectors. Since the green transition is a focus area, we want you to have an interest in the connection between food, climate, and food products.
You need to have good communication skills in both speech and writing, basic IT skills, and experience working with consistency-adjusted meals and special diets.
For the position responsible for the daily meal box, good IT skills and broad competence in consistency-adjusted meals and special diets are required. For the supervisory role, experience in leadership is required.
It is meritorious if you have knowledge of diet data systems, such as Mashie or similar, and good knowledge of self-control and HACCP.
Your personal qualities are important to us
You need to have a great interest in the craft and thrive in an environment where collaboration is a natural part of everyday life. The work is physically demanding and involves standing and walking for most of the workday. Lifting, fast-paced work, and handling large volumes occur daily. For us, it is important that you contribute to a positive work environment and take responsibility for delivering high quality.
