About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation, remand prisons, and prisoner transport.

Hall Prison is located just outside Södertälje. The largest professional group is prison officers, but the prison also employs administrative staff, educators, production managers, and others. In addition to normal wards, the prison has special units for inmates with specific needs and one of the country's three security units. Inmates are engaged in activities such as education, treatment programs, work operations, and other structured activities (ASV) responsible for creative activities, crafts, gardening, and health.

At Hall, we value a health-promoting work environment and offer, for example, a staff gym to use during breaks and on free time, access to a sports hall, library, and recovery room with a massage chair. You can reach the prison by bus from Östertälje. If you drive a car, you can park for free in our staff parking lot.

Job Description

The prison's organization includes two security technicians whose work covers operation, maintenance/service, troubleshooting, and repair of the facility's technical installations. The systems include, among other things, lock and passage systems, networks, telecommunications, camera systems, a superior system for alarm communication, and fire alarms. The position involves close cooperation with other staff within the agency, as well as with operations technicians and contractors from external companies.

Qualifications

For the position of security technician, we are looking for a responsible, safety-conscious, and positive person with good problem-solving skills. You work well with other people and have the ability to work independently. Your good teamwork skills and service-oriented attitude allow you to easily adapt to different situations that arise. The work is occasionally intensive, which requires you to be able to prioritize and work in a structured manner.

You are aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. We are looking for someone who has:

• A complete upper secondary education in electricity, telecommunications, or alternatively another technical education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers relevant.
• Work experience in electricity, telecommunications, or networks with relevant certificates.
• Experience in operations or support within network equipment.
• Experience and/or education in other security systems such as locks, CCTV, and superior alarm systems.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

The following are also meritorious:

• Technical further education that the employer considers relevant.
• Experience in administration and monitoring of server environments.
• Experience and/or education in communication systems and fire alarms.
