Project Manager & Ensemble Leader at Ronneby Culture School

Ronneby Culture School offers education in dance, music, theatre, musicals, film, and visual arts. Within music, there is instruction in about twenty instruments, as well as opportunities to play in ensembles, rock and pop bands, and in our large wind orchestra. The teaching is conducted both individually and in groups, often leading to concerts, performances, and personal projects.

Job Responsibilities

Ronneby Culture School is looking for a project manager who is also an active and confident musician to launch a rehearsal space and ensemble activities in close cooperation with the municipality's youth centers.

About the Assignment

We are starting a development project with the goal of establishing a fully equipped rehearsal space and an open music activity for young people aged 12-19.

Here, it should be easy to step in, rehearse, start a band, write music, and develop together. The activity targets both our existing students and young people who have not yet discovered the culture school.

You will play a central role in shaping the activity together with the young people, including content, working methods, and how we reach more people.

As project manager/ensemble leader, you will:

• Set up and launch the rehearsal space activity
• Lead and coach bands and groups in practical music-making
• Create good conditions for collaboration, songwriting, and personal creation
• Plan and conduct rehearsals, workshops, and band projects
• Work proactively and in close cooperation with youth centers and schools
• Give young people influence over how the activity is shaped
• Maintain structure, planning, and follow-up

Other Information

• A driver's license and access to a personal car are required
• The position is a fixed-term project employment at 40% for approximately 10 months, starting as agreed
• Working hours are mainly in the afternoon and evening. Weekend work may occur.

Any questions regarding the position will be answered on June 26 and between August 4-6.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Are an active musician with personal experience of playing in bands
• Navigate comfortably between different genres
• Are accustomed to leading or coaching others in musical contexts
• Have experience working with young people
• Have experience driving projects or developing activities

As a person, you are:

• Confident, sensitive, and good at making contact
• Self-initiating and get things done
• Like order and structure, but also function well when things don't go as planned
• Good at collaborating

Pedagogical experience is meritorious, but you do not need to be a trained teacher.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability, especially your ability to meet young people where they are, both socially and musically.

• Salary form: Monthly salary.
• Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
• Duration: The position is a fixed-term project employment at 40% for approximately 10 months, starting as agreed.
