About the role
Hushållningssällskapet Kalmar Kronoberg Blekinge has a well-developed field trial operation conducted in collaboration with various trial hosts. Our focus is on conducting crop trials of high scientific quality across a wide range of crops, such as grass leys, cereals, oilseeds, maize, beans, and onions. Trials include variety testing, plant protection, and irrigation.
We are now looking for a Trial Technician for our trial operations at the Torslunda trial station on Öland. Here, we conduct field trials both at the station and on farms in the surrounding area.
As a Trial Technician with us, you will become part of an engaged team that carries out and follows up on field trials from start to finish. The work is practical and varied.
In this role, you will work with everything from sowing and plant protection to grading, measurements, sampling, and threshing. No two days are alike – weather, crops, and the different phases of the trials make the work both varied and educational.
In our team of Trial Technicians, you will work with our trials on major agricultural crops and collaborate closely with our horticulture manager, who is responsible for other crops. If you are looking for a development-oriented job where you will learn a great deal about crop production with varied tasks, this is the job for you. You will also be involved in conducting soil mapping for customers, primarily in the counties of Kalmar, Blekinge, and Kronoberg.
About you
We are looking for you who have documented experience in crop production with agricultural crops. You thrive in a role where you collaborate with many different actors and communicate clearly and professionally. As a person, you are structured and meticulous, with the ability to collaborate in a small team. Above all, we place great emphasis on your personal qualities and how you can complement and strengthen our team.
Qualifications
Relevant education within the agricultural sector or equivalent work experience
Interest in crop production in Sweden
Category B driving license
Computer literacy and proficiency with Office packages
A Category BE driving license and authorization to handle chemical preparations are meritorious.
If you are interested in taking on extended responsibility in the form of a team leader role – we view this as meritorious, but it is not a requirement for the position.
What we offer With us, you will have a broad and development-oriented role where you actively contribute to the sustainable development of the countryside for the future. You will become part of one of the country's largest and most innovative agricultural societies, with engaged colleagues characterized by innovation, high competence, and a strong focus on sustainability. We invest in continuous competence development and encourage individual initiatives for the development of the business.
