Birka Gotland is the Baltic Sea's new leisure cruise ship, offering recreation and experiences for the everyday traveler. The vessel is operated by Gotland Alandia Cruises, established in 2023 as a joint venture between the shipping companies Viking Line and Gotlandsbolaget. Birka Gotland offers cruises and regular voyages between Stockholm, Mariehamn, and Visby starting from spring 2024.

Our kitchen team – a tightly knit group of approximately 40 people – is now looking for new colleagues. We are looking for you if you are an experienced kitchen assistant/cold station chef, or if you perhaps lack kitchen experience but are accustomed to physically demanding work and wish to work in the dishwashing section. Regardless of your background, you are flexible, stress-resistant, and eager to serve the best food in the Baltic Sea alongside us.

Working on Birka Gotland

• A shift onboard can range from a single cruise up to 14 days.
• We operate on a 1:1 system, where each work period is followed by an equally long paid leave.
• Safety duties are included in all roles.
• The safety language onboard is English.
• Work clothes and all meals onboard are included, and you have your own cabin.

We are currently looking primarily for substitutes for short or longer assignments, but for the right candidate, there may be opportunities for longer temporary positions or permanent employment.
