We are looking for Transporters for the transport of deceased persons based in Västerås

Begravningsbolaget AB is now looking for new employees for the transport of deceased persons as part of our mission.
We are looking for hourly extra staff for work during daytime, evenings, weekends, and as needed.
About the job - Transport and care of deceased persons
When a person passes away, the body must be transported in a dignified and secure manner. This may involve picking up the deceased from the place of death and transporting them to the nearest mortuary, or transporting them to the National Board of Forensic Medicine (Rättsmedicinalverket) for examination.
As a transporter with us, you become part of the entire chain of care for the deceased. The work is always performed in teams of two, where you alternate between driver and assistant. You collaborate closely with authorities, the National Board of Forensic Medicine, municipal housing facilities, external housing facilities, and our own funeral agencies.
Working hours are varied, and the workload can fluctuate between high-intensity periods and calmer shifts. The job also involves responsibility for vehicle maintenance, material handling, and working with autonomy and accountability.
Job Responsibilities
- Transport and care of deceased persons
- Coffining and assignments for our funeral agencies
- Vehicle maintenance and handling of work and consumable materials
- Collaboration with authorities, healthcare staff, and next of kin
Qualifications
- Upper secondary education or equivalent
- Category B driver's license (required) and confidence in driving larger vehicles
- Basic computer literacy
- Clean criminal record and not listed in the register of convictions (checked in accordance with the Swedish Police Authority's requirements)
- Good physical health and a stable psyche, as the work can be both physically demanding and emotionally taxing
Merits
- Experience in transporting deceased persons
- Experience from healthcare, elderly care, transport, or other service-oriented operations

Employment Conditions
We apply individual salary setting in accordance with the Transport industry guidelines.
A certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) is required before employment.
