The Stroke Unit and Neurorehab are part of the Neurocenter at Sunderby Hospital. Adjacent to the ward are the Stroke Rehabilitation Team (SHR), the Stroke Clinic, the Baclofen Clinic, and the Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic.
We are looking for
We are looking for you who are a registered nurse and want to work permanent night shifts. You are interested in person-centered care and have a rehabilitation-focused approach to work. As a person, we want you to be engaged, able to work independently, and have a strong sense of teamwork. We place great importance on personal qualities and would like you to be a positive person who can prioritize and act in acute and unexpected situations. Experience of working within stroke and/or rehabilitation as well as experience of working in Cosmic is meritorious but not a requirement.
This is what you will work with
Ward 41 is staffed at night by 2 nurses and 2 nursing assistants. The goal of the Stroke Unit is to work with the entire care chain, from the acute onset of stroke until the patient is discharged, sometimes with the support of our SHR team. At the Stroke Unit, you work together with the team based on clear routines based on the National Board of Health and Welfare's National Guidelines for Stroke.
At Neurorehab, we have Norrbotten's highest level of rehabilitation. Here, patients with spinal cord injuries and acquired brain injuries, among others, are treated and rehabilitated. The rehabilitation provided is at a specialist level (accredited according to CARF) and patients from the entire county are referred here.
In your role as a nurse, you ensure the patients' medical and specific care needs and then plan and prioritize the measures to be implemented. We work with person-centered care where the patient is a clear part of the team. As a nurse on the ward, you work with both acute care and rehabilitation. In the patient-near work, you work in close cooperation with nursing assistants.
This is what we offer you
- You are offered individualized introduction on the ward and, in addition, you are offered to participate in a basic year program together with other new employees.
- You are assigned a personal mentor and, after a period of work, go through a Stroke Competence Training that generates 3 university credits.
- On the ward, you also get a Rehab License which means in-depth knowledge in rehabilitation methodology.
