Job Description
Cummins in Lindesberg is one of the region's most significant employers and a cornerstone of the Swedish heavy vehicle industry. Here, over a hundred years of engineering expertise are combined with modern, sustainable technology.
We now have the opportunity to welcome you to our team as an Automation Electrician! We are looking for you who are a natural problem solver with a genuine interest in technology. Since the work takes place in an active production environment, you thrive when collaborating with other professional categories and have the ability to prioritize when production needs your assistance. As an Automation Electrician in Lindesberg, you will become a key person in ensuring the operation of a highly automated machine park. Cummins works with precision, meaning your work directly impacts the quality of the front and rear axles and components produced.
Working at Cummins in Lindesberg means getting the best of both worlds: the friendly atmosphere and security of a local company, combined with the career opportunities and resources available in a global multinational corporation. Welcome to us!
In this recruitment, we collaborate with Randstad. Recruitment consultant Hannah Sandström answers questions about the role and the recruitment process: [email protected] (mailto:[email protected])
Responsibilities
Your main focus is to ensure high availability in production through active maintenance and rapid fault resolution during urgent stoppages. The role is fundamentally operational and technical, with an emphasis on problem-solving rather than software development. The machine park consists of approximately 100 machines, ranging from older models to more modern ones. The role also involves significant collaboration with other departments, such as working closely with production teams to solve complex problems where mechanics and electricity intersect.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: You work systematically to identify and rectify electrical faults in the machine park by reading and understanding electrical schematics and interpreting alarms from operators and PLC systems. You are comfortable working with older machines where documentation and schematics are available.
- PLC Management: You are responsible for troubleshooting existing PLC programs (Siemens TIA Portal, Sinamics). This does not involve writing code from scratch, but rather being able to read, understand, and make minor adjustments/optimizations as needed.
- Installation & Assembly: You participate in work involving cable pulling, cabinet building, and installing new cells.
- Safety: You work with high voltage up to 400V, which requires a high level of safety awareness and compliance with current electrical regulations.
Other Information
- Working hours: 2-shift system, full-time, immediate start.
- The employment is permanent with a 6-month probation period.
- Collective agreement: IF Metall.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a solid electrical-technical background and a natural aptitude for logical troubleshooting.
- Relevant electrical education – upper secondary or university college (YH) with a focus on electricity.
- Good technical understanding and the ability to read, understand/interpret electrical schematics and work logically with troubleshooting of electrical systems.
- Good system knowledge of Siemens control systems (TIA Portal, Sinamics).
- Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Experience with robotics, such as ABB, is a merit.
- Experience with or knowledge of machine brands such as Okuma, Klingenberg, Gleason, Mazak, Pittler, or Schmid is a merit.
At Cummins, you get the right conditions to work safely and develop in your role. We cover and conduct necessary certifications continuously for our employees:
- Electrical Safety: NERCA.
- Machine Safety & Operation: You will participate in our internal DEKRA training (theory and practice).
