Are you a meticulous team player who always prioritizes safety? Then the position of Sawmill Operator might be for you!

Responsibilities

In this role, you contribute to smooth production by monitoring and managing the timber flow, identifying and resolving disruptions, and ensuring product quality through visual inspection and measurement. The work also includes identifying and reporting maintenance needs, making machine settings during changes, and performing basic troubleshooting and repairs.

You will become part of a cohesive team where collaboration, communication, and the ability to both give and take instructions are crucial for success.

To enable development and broadened competence, we work flexibly, which means you may also be asked to support other parts of the operations.

Qualifications

The most important thing is not what you have done previously, but who you are as a person and your willingness to develop. You will receive the necessary training on the job.

A forklift license for counterbalance forklifts is an advantage, but not a requirement.

About Us

Derome makes more of the forest. We harvest trees in our local area and process them in our own sawmills. Approximately half of the timber is exported, and the remainder is sold in our own building supply stores, as well as to our industry colleagues. Within our Timber organization, you will be part of a team of timber specialists who are passionate about close and long-term customer relationships.
