Now we are looking for a Department Head for the Social Services Administration.

THIS IS WHAT YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE

As Department Head for Elderly Care and Health and Medical Services in the Municipality of Flen, you will step into a key role with a broad and responsible mandate. You will lead one of the Social Services Administration's largest operations, where you have overall responsibility for special housing, home care, day activities, and the administration's entire medical organization. Your focus is clear: to create safe and high-quality care for our residents while building a sustainable and attractive workplace for our approximately 800 employees.

In your role, you combine strategic drive with close and coaching leadership. You are responsible for recruiting in collaboration with a recruiter, developing and motivating your unit managers, and creating the conditions required for your team to perform and grow. Through employee dialogues and strategic competence supply, you ensure that we have the right expertise to meet future challenges in the welfare sector.

A significant part of your work involves driving change. You are the engine behind the administration's improvement work, where you identify and implement new, efficient ways of working and digital solutions. You have overall responsibility for finance and budget, which means that you analyze results and allocate resources where they provide the greatest benefit to the operations.

As Department Head, you are an important voice in the administration's management team and report directly to the Head of Administration. Here, you contribute to shaping our long-term strategies and ensure that we work in line with the municipality's overall goals. Collaboration is your daily routine; you build trusting relationships with politicians, trade union representatives, and external partners. FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST:

• Have an academic degree in a relevant field, such as social work.
• Have experience of leading other managers and budget responsibility.
• Have experience of a politically governed operation.
• Have experience of and good knowledge of public administration.
• Have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

THIS IS WHAT WE VALUE HIGHLY:

• Experience in the social services sector and/or health and medical care.
