The Swedish Armed Forces Dog Service Unit is looking for temporary dog handlers (part-time) this summer!

The Air Combat School (LSS) is the Air Force's joint competence center for education and development. At LSS, there are the Air Force's schools, the Air Force's development unit, and the Swedish Armed Forces Dog Service Unit. LSS plays a crucial role in the development and growth of the future Air Force.

About the unit

The Swedish Armed Forces Dog Service Unit (FHTE) belongs to the Air Combat School (LSS). FHTE is responsible for the production, follow-up, and coordination of service dogs in the Armed Forces “from breeding planning to operational teams”. FHTE is tasked with developing dog services and providing the Armed Forces' combat units with service dogs that meet the Armed Forces' high standards. Together with dog handlers, the service dogs are trained for missions in the Armed Forces, both nationally and internationally. FHTE is now looking for Temporary Dog Handlers for the summer at the facility in Märsta/Sigtuna.

About the position

The position is a summer temporary position at 50–70%.

Main responsibilities

• Daily care and maintenance of the dog kennel
• Exercise of Armed Forces dogs
• Maintenance of equipment and vehicles
• Follow-up and documentation of daily work

Qualifications

• Previous practical experience in a dog kennel
• Previous practical experience with dogs
• Good computer skills
• Driver's license B

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who enjoys a varied job with a high degree of independence and responsibility. We expect you to be a communicative and judicious person who finds it easy to collaborate with others. There may be business trips in the form of, for example, transporting dogs.

Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Meritorious

• Military driver's license
• Previous work with service dogs
• Previous experience with the PRIO system
