Cleaner at the Royal College of Music

The Royal College of Music in Stockholm, KMH, is Sweden's only independent higher education institution in the field of music. We educate students at the highest international level in various music genres, conducting, composition, music and media production, as well as in various teacher training programs focused on music. KMH also conducts research and doctoral education in music and music pedagogy, and participates in extensive artistic and pedagogical research and development projects in Sweden and internationally.

We are now looking for a cleaner to be placed in the Service Department. The position is full-time permanent but starts with a six-month probationary period. Start date at the beginning of June.

Working hours are between 06:00 – 14:30 on weekdays. In addition to regular scheduled working hours, weekend work may occur as needed. The cleaning team consists of six people, one of whom is a team leader.

Job Responsibilities

The work involves cleaning the college's facilities, which are relatively new. Cleaning includes, among other things, common areas such as the foyer, restaurant area, atriums, corridors, classrooms, practice rooms, studios, kitchens, toilets, and stairs. Cleaning of KMH's large concert halls occurs, as well as cleaning before larger events organized by the college. The work is divided into different areas within the cleaning team. As an employee, you are also expected to participate in meetings within the administrative organization, as you as a cleaner are part of the college's administrative and operational support.

Experience

We are looking for someone who has:

• at least five years of experience in cleaning work,
• experience working with a scrubbing machine,
• can speak, understand, and write Swedish well. This is necessary as you will have contact with the school's staff, students, and external parties,
• knowledge of the Office package (such as email and Microsoft Word).

Similar work at a college/university is an advantage.
