Do you want to work outdoors on an important environmental mission while engaging in an active job that contributes to good health? ProGreen is now seeking employees for practical work in combating invasive plant species in natural and urban environments throughout Skåne.

Do you lack experience but have an interest in nature and good physical condition? That is not a barrier – we train new staff from the ground up.

About the position

The work involves combating invasive plant species such as giant hogweed, Himalayan balsam, yellow skunk cabbage, flowering lupin, great mullein, Canadian goldenrod, and rose hip among others. The assignments are carried out on behalf of municipalities, property owners, and other clients.

The work mainly consists of mechanical control using manual methods, such as digging with a spade, hand pulling roots, and collecting and disposing of plant waste. The work often takes place in field environments and may involve working in difficult terrain, wetlands, or in hard-to-reach places.

ProGreen also works with chemical and thermal control methods. Internal training is offered in these areas and can be a natural next step in the role for those who wish to develop further, which may also involve increased responsibilities and better salary development.

The work is physical and involves daily movement in a natural environment. Many find that the work contributes to improved fitness and a more active life. During work, it is allowed to use mobile phones and headphones to listen to music or talk on the phone, provided that safety and work tasks are not affected.

The position is primarily seasonal and pertains to work during the growing season. As ProGreen signs more contracts and expands its operations, there are good opportunities for extension and development towards a full-time position. During the winter period, the work may consist of other practical tasks such as manual snow shoveling, snow removal, or similar outdoor work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who enjoys practical and varied outdoor work. You are responsible, meticulous, and have a good work ethic. The work takes place in all weather conditions, and it is important that you are prepared to work even in rain and in demanding environments.

Requirements:

Driver's license B

Good physical condition and experience with practical outdoor work

Meritorious:

Experience with excavators or other construction machinery

Experience in green space maintenance, nature conservation, or land work
