We are a group of environmental workers tasked with collecting residual waste and organic waste from households and businesses, so that the waste can be handled safely and in an environmentally friendly manner.

By collecting and transporting waste, we contribute to recycling materials and converting organic waste into biogas and organic fertilizer. In this way, we are an important part of the cycle and the municipality's efforts to reduce climate impact.

With a service mindset, safety awareness, and responsibility for both the environment and residents, we ensure that waste management operates smoothly – all year round, in all weather.

Your new job

As an environmental worker at Östersund Municipality, you can expect an active job with a lot of movement, collaboration, and a fast pace.

In your work, you will be a crucial piece of the puzzle for us to achieve our goals and continue to maintain the highest quality towards our customers.

Through the job, you will meet many of our customers, and you have a natural passion for providing good service in all different encounters. Your main task is to collect waste according to current routines.

The work is carried out with the help of system support in the vehicle's computer, where all collections and any deviations are registered digitally.

You will always work with a colleague in a garbage truck, and your day starts and ends at Fagerbacken, located in Odenskog.

About Technical Administration

Be part of building important community functions for both our citizens and the municipality's operations. Our operations are very broad. We work with everything from park maintenance, waste management, recycling, and property maintenance to snow removal, land and construction work, water purification, meal preparation, cleaning, and sanitation.
