to apply for the job

Do you want a varied and technical job where you become a key person in the production of asphalt? As a process operator at Svevia, you will be part of an engaged team that operates our asphalt plants together. We are now looking for our next process operator for the Industrial division and our manufacturing operations in Arlanda.

We are currently undergoing an organizational change, which means we are looking for several driven process operators for our asphalt plants across the country. Do you want to be part of our journey – do not hesitate to apply!

Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is significant. Contributing to societal development is even greater. With us, you get to do both.

Your role as a plant operator

During spring, summer, and autumn, we produce hot asphalt that is delivered directly to our customers on the roads. In your role as a plant operator at Svevia, you will work in a process-controlled system from our control room, where you will:

  • Receive orders from customers

  • Control and monitor the production of asphalt

  • Ensure that the right materials and quantities are produced according to specifications

In close collaboration with your colleagues, you will ensure that the factory operates optimally. This may also involve:

  • Feeding the plant with aggregates via a wheel loader

  • Daily inspections and maintenance, such as lubrication, adjustments, and minor repairs

  • Active participation in improvement work and troubleshooting during operational disruptions

We believe in teamwork and versatility – therefore, all our employees are trained to handle all aspects of production. Here, you will be offered a varied job where the different tasks in the plant operator's role make it seldom feel like one workday is the same as another.

Our operations experience higher pressure during the period from April to October, as it follows the division's other activities. During the winter season, when production decreases, we focus on repairs and improvements in the factory.

This position involves shift work, where you will work both morning and afternoon/evening shifts. During peak work periods, night shifts may also occur.

Since Svevia has several asphalt plants across the country, work at nearby asphalt plants may be relevant during temporary work peaks. The position is full-time and start date is according to agreement.

Who are you?

To succeed in the role, we see it as a requirement that you have:

  • A valid driver's license (B)

  • Fluent communication in Swedish, both spoken and written

  • An interest in computers

We consider it an advantage if you have:

  • Previous experience as a plant operator and/or experience in asphalt production

  • Experience from heavy industry, process industry, or similar

  • A certificate to operate a wheel loader

As a person, you have a technical interest and are responsible. We also appreciate if you have an interest and curiosity about manufacturing processes. You take initiative without waiting and enjoy working together with your team.

In the role, it is important to remain calm even when the pace is high. Production can be intense at times, and therefore we are looking for someone who has the ability to handle stress in a constructive and solution-focused manner.

You also need to have a strong ability to structure and prioritize incoming orders – this is a crucial part of the job and affects how well we succeed with the day's production. Your ability to plan and act proactively makes a difference for both the team and our customers.

We look forward to your application!

Part of something bigger

Svevia's industrial division is in an expansive phase, and the ambitions are high. The goal is to be a leading player in paving in Sweden.

It all starts with a quarry, which then becomes aggregates, which in turn is used in the production of asphalt, which is finally laid on the road. With over 100 own quarries, our own asphalt production, bitumen emulsion, and thermoplastics, we have a breadth that no one else has. In our laboratories, we conduct material analyses and ensure that the products meet standards and requirements. And our skilled teams in milling, paving, tank coating, and road marking ensure that the delivery is complete.

Why Svevia?

With us, you quickly become part of the team, and we care about being a workplace for everyone. The decision-making paths are short, and it is easy to make your voice heard. At the same time, you become part of a practical reality and a company where concrete results are created with steaming asphalt machines, large snowplows, and tons of rebar and concrete. With your expertise, you can make a difference on the road. And we always prioritize safety – both with consideration for your own work environment and the safety of others.

For those who want to take the next step in their development, there are many opportunities. Whether you want to deepen your knowledge in your specific area or move on to a supervisory position.

Together, we make the city and countryside function. Do you want to share the road with us?
