Together with our client, we are now looking for a summer intern for the company's purchasing department. The role starts part-time for training during May and then transitions to full-time throughout the summer, from June to August. The position is primarily aimed at those studying a degree in purchasing and/or logistics who are looking for a valuable summer job.

About the position

You will be part of a purchasing team that currently consists of eight people working internationally, based in central Hisingen, Gothenburg. Your main tasks as a junior buyer will involve order placement, delivery monitoring, and handling any discrepancies in the flow. In dialogue with production, you will also work on correcting and sending forecasts to existing suppliers based on the component needs of production. Below are examples of what a typical workday may include.

• Administer and execute order placement in accordance with forecasts
• Follow up to ensure suppliers confirm placed orders
• Proactively work to minimize disruptions in material deliveries
• Monitor deliveries and handle any discrepancies

We are looking for someone who

• Is studying a post-secondary education in purchasing and/or logistics and can work full-time throughout the summer starting in May
• Has good knowledge of MS Office, with a focus on Excel being important for the role
• Communicates fluently in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing

It is highly meritorious if you have previous work experience in purchasing and/or order placement and if you are familiar with working in an ERP system.

To succeed in this role, you need to be detail-oriented and have a strong ability to be precise. You work in a structured and systematic way by planning and organizing your work effectively on your own. This also includes taking significant independent responsibility when something does not go as planned. Furthermore, it is important that you are communicative and care about both internal and external collaborations.
