Team Leaders for Järva District Administration
Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to us
In preparation for the upcoming season and a parental leave, we are now seeking two team leaders who want to help continue creating a sustainable and attractive urban environment in Järva.
We need to strengthen the operation with a seasonal team leader for the period from June to August and for a temporary position from June to September.
The unit for the operation of parks and green areas is a newly formed unit that took over the responsibility for cleaning and maintenance of parks and green areas in Järva in October 2025. The unit consists of three team leaders and a team of park workers and gardeners led by a unit manager. The group is based in a shared operational facility in Sundby, where the workshop, machinery hall, storage, cafeteria, and offices are located. As we approach summer, we are entering our first season with expanded operations, where we strengthen the organization with seasonal park workers and summer supervisors and have close collaboration with the labor market initiative Järvavärdar.
The Järva district consists of the neighborhoods Akalla, Husby, Kista, Rinkeby, Tensta, Hjulsta, Bromsten, Flysta, Lunda, Sundby, and Solhem, where over 90,000 residents live.
We have high ambitions to develop the public outdoor environments of the district and look forward to having you on this journey! Warm welcome to submit your application!
We offer
For us, it is important to have fun at work! You will be part of an engaged workplace with a strong focus on the residents of Järva. Our operations are characterized by collaboration, courage, empathy, and respectful interaction.
You will undergo an introduction to provide you with the right conditions and security in the role of team leader.
Working hours are Monday - Thursday 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM and Friday 7:00 AM - 1:30 PM. You have the opportunity for wellness grants to ensure your well-being throughout the work period.
Your role
As a team leader, you will play a central role in leading the operation through our first season. Together with the unit manager, two team leader colleagues, as well as park workers and gardeners, you will contribute to a well-functioning and high-quality operation of parks and green areas in Järva.
In this role, you will lead and distribute the daily work within the district. You will be responsible for administrative tasks such as scheduling, ordering goods, and handling and distributing error reports in the case management system. You will also act as a contact person for contractual work with external suppliers. Good quality in the operation is ensured through supervision, but also by participating practically in the work in the outdoor environment together with park workers and gardeners.
During the season, a summer park project will be implemented where you, together with the project's responsible project manager, support and lead the summer supervisors. At the same time, we will continue the implementation of the labor market initiative Järvavärdar in the operational activities. In this work, you will collaborate closely with the team leader for Järvavärdar to plan and follow up on work efforts.
Since a large part of the work is outdoors, it is important that you enjoy working outside regardless of the weather. As we enter our first seasonal period, other tasks may occur.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- completed or ongoing post-secondary education such as a degree in gardening, landscaping, or similar, or vocational training as a team leader, park caretaker, or gardener, or other education deemed suitable by the employer
- documented and current experience of practical work with green space maintenance in outdoor environments
- documented and current experience of leading and mentoring others in practical work tasks
- a valid driver's license (B) for passenger cars
- good IT skills in the Office suite
- good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written
It is an advantage if you have:
- certification for the use of brush cutters and chainsaws
- experience and knowledge of nature conservation management
- knowledge of and interest in working climate-consciously and circularly with green issues
To thrive in this role, you are structured and flexible, with the ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions. You work independently, make decisions, and prioritize tasks with good judgment. You have an interest and ability to lead others towards common goals and contribute to a work culture characterized by engagement and participation. The role involves many points of contact, which requires good endurance and a well-developed ability to collaborate. You are motivated by being part of developing an attractive district for our residents.
We place great importance on personal qualities, motivation, and commitment to the position!
Other
You do not need to attach a cover letter in this recruitment process; however, we would like you to answer the questions you will encounter when submitting your application. Your answers to the questions will form the basis for the first selection.
Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis. The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's skills and thus combating discrimination.
