Summer Job as a C-Driver in Waste Collection in Skellefteå

YOUR ROLE

As a C-driver in waste collection, you will collect and transport food and residual waste from households and businesses in Skellefteå and surrounding areas to the Degermyran waste facility. You will work in pairs, which creates security and a good flow in the workday.

You will work in an established four-compartment system where households sort their waste into different containers. Your role is crucial for the collection to function smoothly and for residents to receive a professional and respectful response.

The work is physically active and varied. It is primarily scheduled during the day, but evening work may occur, especially during the initial period.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone who has a C driver's license and a valid YKB. If you have completed the basic YKB training but need to renew it, and are willing to cover the cost of further training yourself, you can also be considered for the role.

You also need to have some documented driving experience with heavy vehicles, for example from internships or previous jobs. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable behind the wheel as you may need to maneuver the truck in tight spaces.

It is important that you have sufficiently good physical conditions to be active and move freely throughout the workday. You also need to have adequate knowledge of Swedish to communicate with both customers and colleagues. We handle digital driving lists in the garbage trucks, so it is an advantage if you also have computer skills.

As part of the waste management team, you are a representative of Skellefteå municipality. You take responsibility for your work, maintain a professional demeanor, and contribute to a good atmosphere in the workgroup. For you, it is just as natural to do a good job as it is to come to work with a positive attitude and a willingness to cooperate.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

You will belong to the Water and Waste department within Community Building. Here we work to collect, manage, and develop waste services in a safe and sustainable manner. Our goal is to reduce waste volumes and make the most of resources as much as possible.

You will be based in Hedensbyn in Skellefteå. Together, we ensure that waste management works – for residents, businesses, and the environment.
