Senior Electronics Engineer with Focus on Radio Systems and Testing

Saab Training and Simulation continues to grow and is now strengthening its testing and verification team with an additional senior electronics engineer focused on radio systems and testing.

We are looking for someone with at least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably 5 years or more, who wants to work closely with both hardware and software in a complex, Saab-specific radio network. If you have a background as a test engineer but a strong interest in electronics and radio, this is also a very good match.

About the Role

In this role, you will work in a wonderful and creative team whose task is to test and verify Saab Training and Simulation's products, with a particular focus on radio systems and communication networks. The team is responsible for both new products and further development of existing systems.

You will be part of a broad and competent testing organization that works with everything from software platforms and simulators to embedded systems and advanced radio systems.

The role is practically oriented towards testing and verification. You are not expected to program test rigs yourself, but to focus on execution, analysis, and quality assurance of tests. The work takes place both in test rigs, test labs, and in field measurements.

You will work closely with test leaders, test engineers, developers, architects, and other stakeholders. The role is social, communicative, and cross-functional.

Examples of Responsibilities

Work with system and platform testing within electronics, software, and radio systems
Test and verify Saab's proprietary radio network in various phases of the development process
Conduct regression tests in hardware rigs and test labs
Verify requirements and functionality and document test results
Write and follow up on bug reports
Collaborate with developers and architects for troubleshooting and improvements
Participate in radio coverage measurements in the field
Prepare and compile test reports

Requirements for the Position

At least 3 years of relevant experience in electronics, testing, hardware, or radio systems
University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Technical Physics, or equivalent
Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Driver's license B
Interest and understanding of radio systems
Good experience with testing and verification in technical systems
Meets the requirements for Swedish citizenship for work in classified areas

Meritorious for the Position

5+ years of experience in testing electronics or radio systems
ISTQB certification
Master's degree
