In the Lillhagen principal area, we work based on prioritized goals in Knowledge, Values, and Student Health Work. We have several lead teachers who work across the area with all staff at recurring conferences and study days. High expectations for both students and staff permeate our operations. We work with collegial learning and systematic analyses and evaluations of our teaching so that both students and staff have the best opportunity for development. Lillhagsskolan has a well-functioning student health team that includes a school counselor, school nurse, special educator, special teacher, and assistant principal. The secondary school consists of four parallel classes with about 350 students and over 50 employees, located in the White House.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will work 50% with regular tasks within the school library and 50% with pedagogical work with students in smaller contexts, where you work to motivate and strengthen students to increase motivation for learning and promote attendance.

Your tasks include:

• You participate in the school's values work by supporting various groups, including supporting students who need individual solutions and extra adaptations. You work closely with students and collaborate with others to create individual solutions to motivate and engage. This may also involve collaborations with guardians, teachers, and the school's collective student health.
• As a school librarian, you are responsible for running the school's library and developing its pedagogical activities. You will work with various methods to strengthen students in their reading, both through your own program and in collaboration with teachers. This includes, for example, literature presentations, book discussions, and various activities to spark and strengthen students' love of reading.
• As a librarian, you are expected to be an active part of the entire school's operational development to strengthen students' linguistic and digital skills. You work pedagogically with media and information literacy and general digital competence. This includes teaching in source and search criticism as well as library and internet literacy.
• Your duties also include organizing the library's books, such as purchasing, wrapping, entering them into our digital system, and displaying them on the shelves to ensure everything is in the right place.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a university degree with a pedagogical focus and/or a degree in library and information science or other education that the employer deems relevant. You have good knowledge of children's and youth literature and knowledge of methods for promoting reading. Your strength is your pedagogical knowledge, and you have the ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language, both in speech and writing.

To succeed in this role, you have:

• The ability to lead, motivate, and inspire students; you help them develop and feel good. You are good at creating an open dialogue and adapting your behavior based on the current situation.
• You take initiative in social contexts and have the ability to build trust in your professional relationships.
• You have an unpretentious approach in your collaboration with colleagues, students, and guardians.
• You have the ability to plan and organize your work. You find it easy to set goals, organize resources, and follow up and complete activities.

Previous work experience in the field is an advantage for the position.
