JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Then the position of kitchen assistant at Långaveka's kitchen is for you.

Here, lunch is prepared for students and staff, about 150 portions per day, of which about 50 portions are for the preschool located in the same building.

As a kitchen assistant, you will have many different tasks such as preparing breakfast and snacks, composing and preparing the daily salad buffet, baking bread, serving the preschool, washing dishes, serving during opening hours, managing self-control, and kitchen cleaning. Occasionally, dietary cooking may occur in this position.

You contribute to ensuring that food is served on time and with the right quality, focus on positive interactions, participate in creating a good work environment, are involved in ensuring the operation runs smoothly, promote effective collaboration between the kitchen and school/preschool, and contribute to the development of the unit. Sustainability and reducing food waste are things we work on daily, which we consider very important, and we therefore see that you are inventive, rational, and flexible.

During holidays and other occasions, placement in the kitchen may change to kitchens in the surrounding area.

QUALIFICATIONS

You preferably have restaurant education at the high school level or similar, as well as experience working, preferably in a kitchen. Food and cooking are close to your heart, and you share our belief that meals are an important part of everyday life.

Basic knowledge of special diets is a prerequisite. As a person, you are responsible, take initiative, have the ability to be flexible, and deliver good quality in a fast-paced environment. Providing good service and a positive attitude is a given for you and very important to us.

You have good computer skills, which is required as you will register your absences in Personec and access information on our website and in our home catalog. You need to have a good understanding of the Food Agency's hygiene regulations and recommendations and be familiar with HACCP. Your ability to understand and use the Swedish language, both orally and in writing, is very good. The job requires good physical condition in terms of strength, stamina, and mobility, and we believe that you maintain your health through some form of exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
