Maintenance Technician / Assembler – Mechanics

We are now looking for a meticulous and technically skilled maintenance technician/assembler for our client in Västerås. In this role, you will work with maintenance and renovation of brake frames for railway vehicles, where quality, safety, and precision are crucial. The position is suitable for you who have a good mechanical understanding, experience in torque application, and hold a valid forklift license.

Job Responsibilities

In your daily work, you will among other things:

• Dismantle and assemble brake frames and associated components
• Work with mechanical maintenance according to drawings and instructions
• Perform torque application according to given specifications and safety requirements
• Inspect parts focusing on wear, damage, and functionality
• Replace wear parts and make adjustments
• Clean and reassemble components with high accuracy
• Document completed work and maintenance

In addition to working with brake frames, the position may also include:

• Cutting materials for other operations
• Warehouse work such as receiving, picking, sorting, and inventory (forklift driving is included)
• General workshop work as needed

We are looking for someone who

• Has experience in mechanical work, preferably within industry or workshop
• Has documented experience in torque application
• Holds a valid forklift license
• Is meticulous, responsible, and works in a structured manner
• Has a good understanding of safety regulations and quality requirements
• It is an advantage if you have an interest in/experience as a car mechanic

Work Environment

The work is performed in a workshop environment where safety and quality are the focus. You are expected to follow work instructions and contribute to a safe, efficient, and well-functioning production.
