Stable Keeper Wanted at Swedfarm AB
Swedfarm ABVästra Götalands län, Herrljunga
Previous experience is desired
We are looking for stable keepers for our breeding and breeding stables in the Herrljunga area.
As a stable keeper, you will be an important link in the process that leads to eggs being available for purchase in Sweden's grocery stores. Sweden is essentially self-sufficient in eggs.
As a stable keeper, you will take care of the animals, maintain the stable, and ensure that everything functions optimally. The work requires that you can work independently and have a good eye for animals, which means being observant of the animals' health, the climate in the stable, and ensuring that the animals have the best conditions every day. The animals always come first. It is also a great advantage if you are practically inclined as small repairs may need to be made. You will work in a flexible group, which means we help each other in our various stables. You will work quite a bit independently in the stables, but there is support regarding animal knowledge and technology.
You must have a driver's license and access to a car. At least high school education, preferably with a focus on animals. Previous experience working with animals is an advantage. We work irregular hours and also every third weekend. Since some documentation and especially communication occurs, you need to have a good command of Swedish in both spoken and written form.
You must not have poultry or reptiles yourself due to the risk of infection.
Job responsibilities:
- Make rounds with the animals regularly each day, check that they have feed and water, monitor the animals' well-being, and assess air quality.
- Ensure that the stable and common areas are clean and tidy.
- Prepare for the introduction of new animals and the collection of animals.
- Update production data daily and fill in checklists (they are in Swedish).
- Contact technicians in case of faults and deficiencies.
- Address minor faults and deficiencies.
- Work in other stables as needed.
- Keep the area around the stables clean.
- Assist with the introduction and loading of animals.
- Act if something seems wrong with the animals.
- In the breeding stable - deliver and sort/pack eggs daily.
- Report feed consumption.
Your profile:
- High school education.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English.
- B driver's license and access to a car.
- Advantageous to have a driver's license for a loader.
- Solid interest in animals.
- Meticulous and methodical.
- Flexible and willing to help when colleagues need assistance.
- Stable and reliable.
- Have some technical/mechanical understanding.
Other:
- The work is scheduled and weekend work is included.
- Collective agreements exist.
- Showers and kitchen facilities are available in the stables.
If this sounds interesting, you are warmly welcome to apply.
Send to [email protected] by 2026-02-14. Selection is ongoing and the position may be filled before the application period ends. For questions about the position, contact
