You will belong to Markverkstad Norr, which is a unit within the Swedish Armed Forces Technical School (FMTS), with about 180 employees. We operate in Boden, Luleå, Arvidsjaur, Vidsel, Umeå, Östersund, and Sollefteå. From January 1, 2026, the Markverkstad unit (MvE) will be transferred to the Army Staff.

Main Responsibilities
As a mechanic, you will primarily work with troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of heavy wheeled vehicles and their systems used within the Armed Forces, mainly trucks. The work involves both preventive and corrective maintenance as well as modifications based on established guidelines.
The workshop also has the opportunity to offer entry-level positions to junior candidates.
Qualifications
- At least a two- or three-year high school education in vehicle technology, focusing on vehicles, or other education/competence acquired through work experience that the employer deems equivalent
- Relevant previous experience as a vehicle mechanic
- Class B driver's license
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is quality-conscious, works well independently as well as in a team. As a vehicle mechanic, you are structured, decisive, and make correct assessments and priorities. Furthermore, you are positive about the work and appreciate order and tidiness.
DESIRABLE
- Knowledge of hydraulics
- Class C or CE driver's license
- Experience with vehicle diagnostic systems and vehicle electronics
- AC certification
