ERA Shipping AB operates and staffs the passenger vessels m/s Prins Carl Philip, m/s Mälar Victoria, and m/s Delfin VI on behalf of Stromma tourism & shipping. The vessels accommodate up to 300 passengers and serve various destinations in Lake Mälaren and the Saltsjö with intermediate docks. We also carry out charter assignments and Christmas buffet cruises.

In preparation for the summer season 2026, we are looking for new committed captains for a very varied and fun workplace where cohesion and cooperation are key words.

Season: May - Sep

As a captain, you are responsible for the crew, the vessel, the passengers, and safe navigation with all that it entails. In addition to leading the crew in their work on board, you should have a comprehensive understanding of both the operations and the mechanical and technical aspects on board.

We are looking for captains, not boat drivers. Great emphasis is placed on work experience and personal maturity. The captain also plays an important role in the atmosphere and mindset on board among colleagues, which is why your leadership qualities are significant for the role.

Qualifications

• FB class VI inland navigation or higher (requirement)
• Medical certificate for seafarers (requirement)
• Basic safety (STCW-95) (requirement)
• Crowd and crisis management (CCM) (requirement)
• Engine officer class VIII (requirement)
• ROC or SRC (requirement)
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written (requirement)
• Medical first aid
• Stress-resistant, active, and attentive.
• Unpretentious & communicative
• Positive attitude and social with good ability to collaborate.

Previous experience in charter and archipelago traffic and/or experience in line traffic (meritorious)

Ability for documentation, documentation, and structure (meritorious)
