About the unit:

The Logistics Unit Stockholm is a unit at the Life Guards that supports military units from operational locations in Stockholm, Solna, Kungsängen, Falun, and Gävle.

The unit currently consists of a Staff, a Technical Department, a Supply Department in Stockholm, a Supply Department in Kungsängen, and a Mobilization Department. The Logistics Unit contributes to a stronger defense through well-functioning logistics, unit-close storage, supply provision, and ordering of material maintenance in peace, during readiness increases, and in war. The Armed Forces, and particularly the Logistics Unit Stockholm, are growing in several different areas.

Main responsibilities

  • As the deputy section manager, you will be part of the management team of the Supply Department Kungsängen, which includes leading and developing the department's work teams and routines
  • In collaboration with the section manager, lead and plan the work within the section
  • Collaborate with other section managers within your department
  • Participate in other functions, networks, and activities that are a natural task in an organization with distributed delegation
  • Work at another section/department may occur
  • Outdoor storage work in all weather conditions is required, as well as heavy lifting
  • Ensure that laws and regulations are followed within the section
  • Monitor that the reporting of supplies in the Armed Forces' reporting system is carried out continuously
  • Assist in maintaining contacts with customers
  • Represent the section and/or department at various forums
  • Conduct reporting and inventory of supplies in the Armed Forces' reporting system Lift, Prio (SAP)
  • Participate in exercises throughout the Armed Forces

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Approved upper secondary education
  • Several years of experience in storage/warehouse work, within a service profession, or other qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Driver's license at least class B (manual)
  • Very good experience working in a digital computer environment
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who is structured, organized, and has a sense of service. Meeting new people should be a given, and you can express yourself well verbally and in writing. You will work in a team, so we appreciate that you can collaborate well with others and have good camaraderie, but also be able to work independently and take your own initiatives and responsibility. As a person, you are resilient, meticulous, and loyal. Personal qualities will be given great importance during selection.

Meritorious

  • Experience handling the Armed Forces' reporting systems Lift, Prio (SAP)
  • Previously worked with the Armed Forces' material
  • Knowledge and experience from the Armed Forces' operations
  • Experience in leadership

Employment form: Permanent employment starting with a six-month probationary period for those not currently employed in the Armed Forces

The Life Guards is one of the Armed Forces' largest units with roots dating back to 1521. We train tomorrow's soldiers, as well as military police and personnel who will carry out international missions. We guard the royal palaces, we have security and ground combat units. We are also responsible for preserving and developing Swedish military music tradition. Our headquarters is in Kungsängen outside Stockholm, but we are also located in Sollentuna, central Stockholm, Uppsala, Gothenburg, and Karlskrona.
