The heightened security political situation that Sweden finds itself in places increasing demands on the technical systems within the navy; are you the person we are looking for who can help contribute to the availability of the Swedish Navy? The position involves working with the navy's remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROV) and the various sonars and vessels of the mine clearance system. These systems are an important part of the navy's ability to keep shipping lanes and ports open. The vessels come in several different types and are either integrated ships or portable. The mine clearance equipment varies in nature and is used for, among other things, documentation of objects underwater.
The Operations Control Office (DSK), which is part of the Navy Staff's Material Office, designs and procures both service and repairs for the Armed Forces' ships and boats. With professional employees, we carry out and develop operations together with the rest of the Armed Forces and in close cooperation with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and the industry. The department (DSK) consists of about 90 employees distributed across four locations: Karlskrona, Berga, Muskö, and Gothenburg. The position is referred to as Systems Engineer in the Armed Forces and is located in Muskö.
Our employees enjoy several different benefits, including:
- Good balance between work and leisure with flexible working hours and 28–35 vacation days depending on your age.
- Professional development based on the needs of the organization and your career goals.
- Training as a work task: physical training for three hours per week, access to internal training facilities and training sessions, training clothes, reimbursement for training shoes, and the opportunity to have entry fees for various sports events.
- Salary supplements during parental leave and VAB, as well as the opportunity to exchange vacation days for extra pension contributions.
Main tasks
- Prepare preventive and corrective maintenance measures in dialogue with the using units and convert these into orders to suppliers.
- Check and ensure quality (through, for example, documentation review, inspections, and verification) of maintenance performed by suppliers.
- Provide basis for financial follow-up of placed orders.
- Follow up on the technical status of materials (including spare parts, documentation, maintenance status, and performance verification) and propose measures.
- Engage in dialogue regarding orders/reviews with suppliers and users.
- Act as a customer representative within your technical area towards other technical parties within the Armed Forces, FMV, and the defense industry.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education with a technical focus or other relevant competence that the employer assesses as equivalent.
- Technical experience with underwater vehicles or other relevant equipment.
- Communicates fluently in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Experience working in technical support systems for operations and maintenance.
- Good knowledge of common Office software such as Word and Excel.
- Driver's license (B category).
Personal qualities
As the role involves many points of contact, you have good collaboration skills and listen to others and relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner. You take initiative, initiate and carry out activities, and achieve results. Weighing together complex information and showing judgment in statements, actions, and decisions comes naturally to you. Furthermore, you are structured in such a way that you plan and organize your work effectively and meet deadlines. We place great importance on your personal qualities.
