🐥 About the role

As an animal caretaker or farm manager, you will work practically with the care and maintenance of poultry (chickens) at one of our 14 farms in northwestern Skåne.

Formal education is not required, but experience in agriculture or animal husbandry is highly desirable. For the role of farm manager, experience is a requirement.

🎯 Tasks and responsibilities

You will be part of our production team of about 35 people. The work is done in teams of 1-3 people per farm, depending on size. Our modern facilities are technically equipped, which requires you to be comfortable with technology, troubleshooting, and digital tools.

As an animal caretaker, you will work with:

  • Feeding the animals

  • Monitoring health and well-being

  • Performing sampling and checks to ensure healthy and well animals

  • Weighing, vaccinating, and selecting animals

  • Sorting and counting eggs at the egg line

  • Placing eggs correctly for further transport to the hatchery

  • Cleaning animal spaces and maintaining a good working environment

  • Washing work clothes

  • Being responsible for egg production

  • Planning daily work in consultation with the farm manager and supervisor

  • Working with routines, deviations, biosecurity, and salmonella controls

  • Recording production data and animal conditions

  • Performing alarm checks according to schedule

  • Inventory and report results

  • Ensuring good animal care and high biosecurity

  • Ordering feed and supplies

As a farm manager, you have the same tasks but also a greater responsibility for ensuring that the work on the farm is carried out according to plan in dialogue with the supervisor.

🧰 Skills and personal qualities

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has good knowledge of animal husbandry

  • Handles animals safely and ethically

  • Is meticulous, responsible, and technically interested

  • Has good teamwork skills

  • Masters Swedish in speech and writing (requirement)

  • Has basic knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Holds a driver's license and has access to a car

  • Understanding of English (desirable)

🕒 Working hours

  • Working hours: 07:00 AM - 04:00 PM (sometimes 06:00 AM - 03:00 PM)

  • Schedule: 10 working days, followed by 4 days off

  • Overtime may occur
