What does a technician do at Eltel?

We have different roles as technicians at Eltel (fiber technicians, service technicians, and railway technicians). Currently, we are looking for a railway technician who will work on fixing both large and small faults in the communication system. The role mainly involves working with customers in the railway sector. You will receive work orders from the team's production planner or project manager.

In your role, you will be part of both emergency fault resolution and planned renovations in the track area. We provide a round-the-clock service to our customers where it is important that we perform quickly, safely, and professionally.

In your role, you will:

• maintain critical infrastructure both independently and in a team
• troubleshoot and repair
• service and replace copper and fiber cables
• be on call every fifth week (on-call duty)
• provide high service to customers

As a technician, you will have many different contacts, both with our production planner who distributes and assigns work to available technicians and with customers when needed. Sometimes you need to ensure that you procure what is necessary to solve the problem for the customer, where communication is key.

You will report your hours daily via phone or computer and continuously report during and after completed work. Of course, you will maintain close communication with our production planner and our customers to keep them updated on the progress of the work.

As a technician with us at Eltel, on-call duty may become relevant, which is every 4-5 weeks and is salary-enhancing.

To succeed in this role, you need:

• Completed high school education
• A genuine interest in technology, preferably in railways
• Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
• A valid driver's license for manual transmission
• A flexible working style as the workday may need to be reprioritized
