P 18 is Seeking Professional and Reserve Officers
The Swedish Armed Forces and Gotland Regiment P 18 are facing significant changes and are looking for individuals who want to be part of our growth journey - due to the current global situation and the growth of the Armed Forces, we need you more than ever!
We are looking for retired professional officers who, for various reasons, have chosen to leave the Armed Forces - here is an opportunity to come back and be re-employed!
- We are looking for those who have already retired but feel they have more to contribute to the workforce and are open to re-employment. New regulations allow you to retain your pension while being permanently or part-time employed within the Armed Forces.
- We are looking for those who currently work at another unit but wish to serve at P 18 and Gotland.
- Are you a reserve officer interested in serving in the Armed Forces' basic organization? We are looking for you too!
As an employee of the Armed Forces, you will be offered varied and meaningful tasks, physical training during work hours, and good opportunities for personal development. As a commissioned officer at Gotland Regiment P 18, you will work towards the unit's set goals alongside engaged colleagues. The work is diverse, and you will have good opportunities to contribute to and influence the future of Gotland Regiment P 18!
Job Responsibilities
We can offer work within the following positions and roles:
- Professional and reserve officers in ground combat, command systems, maintenance services, and staff services.
- Staff officers particularly in planning, intelligence, logistics, security, execution, and command systems.
- Professional and reserve officers with backgrounds in the Air Force and Navy.
- Section-level leaders
- IMO
- Technical officers
- Instructors
- Commanders
Regardless of the position you hold, you will in some way work to support and create conditions for the growth of the Armed Forces and the development of Gotland Regiment P 18.
Requirements
As an officer, specialist officer, and reserve officer, you are expected to possess:
- Approved officer, specialist officer, or reserve officer training
- Previous service in the Armed Forces or other defense-related activities
- Meet the physical ability requirements of the position
- Hold at least a B driver's license
Personal Qualities
The tasks of an officer/specialist officer are varied and require you to work in a structured and unpretentious manner. As a person, we see that you have good communication skills, are responsible, and unpretentious. You are a team player with high collaboration skills while also being proactive and able to work independently.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Other Information
Employment type: Permanent. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.
Employment degree: Full-time. If you have already retired and are considering part-time work, there are opportunities for this.
Work location: Tofta/Visby.

Gotland Regiment was re-established on January 1, 2018, to strengthen the Armed Forces' presence on the strategically important island. Since 2020, conscripts have been trained again at P 18, and the unit will gradually be provided with more capabilities until 2030.
