JOB DESCRIPTION

We currently have a temporary position as a chef at Åsikten's kitchen in Ljungby. In this kitchen, all meals are prepared for the special housing as well as for the lunch restaurant aimed at seniors. The municipality aims to cook climate-smart food from scratch, using good ingredients and engaged staff. We work closely with customers with short lead times and need to be flexible and have a positive attitude. The kitchen is organized under the catering department in the technical administration, where the nearest manager is also located. The employment is within the catering department, and the placement may change if needs arise.

In your role as a chef, you will share responsibility for planning, cooking, and documentation. To reduce vulnerability and ensure a good work environment, we strive for job rotation in our kitchens.

QUALIFICATIONS

The position requires a chef's education in the form of a three-year hotel and restaurant program from high school or another education that the employer deems equivalent. Furthermore, you need to have good knowledge of special diets, food hygiene, and basic computer skills.

The position requires excellent collaboration and service skills, the ability to communicate in speech and writing, and an interest in development work within the meal operations. Enjoying working with children and the elderly is a prerequisite. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and verified collaboration skills as well as education.

Applications for the catering department require a criminal record extract upon job offer. This is according to the law on background checks in preschool activities, schools, and childcare. (SFS 2000:873)

A valid driver's license (B) is required.
