We are looking for a Props Master/Set Dresser/Scenic Painter at Byteatern Kalmar County Theatre

Byteatern Kalmar County Theatre is seeking a creative and dedicated props master, set dresser, and scenic painter! If you have a strong sense of theatre and performing arts and the ability to find solutions to seemingly impossible problems, then this might be the job for you.

About the position: As a props master, set dresser, and scenic painter with us, you will play a significant role in our productions. You will be responsible for your department, and the work will be creative and problem-solving in close collaboration with colleagues and set designers.

About you: You have extensive experience in working with and manufacturing props, set dressing, and scenic painting. You have good knowledge of materials ranging from silicone and paint to stage textiles. You are computer-savvy and have worked with 3D modeling programs and other relevant software for the position. If you are also technically skilled and clever, with experience in special effects, as well as being familiar with using a sewing machine, this is a plus.

You will be responsible for planning your tasks in collaboration with the technical director and your colleagues. You will work within given financial and time frames. As a smaller organization, Byteatern Kalmar County Theatre places high demands on independence, social skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Therefore, personal suitability will be a decisive factor.

About the workplace: Byteatern Kalmar County Theatre is a theatre for the entire Kalmar County with a mission to produce professional performing arts for both children and young people as well as adults. The theatre's workshops are mainly responsible for producing about 3-4 of our own productions per year - ranging from performances that fit in a classroom in village schools to those that fill our main stage.

Position scope: 100%, permanent, 6-month probationary period.

Evening and weekend work may occur.
