Shunter Driver - Green Cargo is looking for you!

We are now looking for someone who wants to take the opportunity to undergo paid training and work as a shunter driver at Green Cargo in Tomteboda! Your responsibilities

At the marshalling yard, we work with shunting and marshalling of freight wagons. This means that wagons arrive in trains from all over the country and are divided and put together to form new trains to reach our important customers and terminals. The role of a shunter driver is to plan and shunt wagons to the right trains and customers. In addition to the shunting itself, functional checks of the wagons are included before they depart for new destinations. A common goal is to ensure that the trains reach customers on time and in a safe manner. This role requires a high level of commitment from everyone working at the marshalling yard and suits those who enjoy physically demanding tasks.

Things to know

The position is a permanent full-time position initiated by a 6-month probationary period, with a planned start in week 5. Your employment begins with a paid basic training of approximately 16-18 weeks that prepares you for the job. The training includes theory, practice, ongoing knowledge tests, and concludes with an examination. Approximately half of the training time is spent in another location, and the remaining time is spent in your hometown. Green Cargo covers travel and accommodation for the weeks you have training in another location.

Working in Green Cargo's production involves irregular working hours where we work around the clock with weekend work every other weekend. The working hours vary from day to day, and the schedule is published on the 15th of each month with your working hours for the following month.

• You have a high safety focus, are used to and enjoy following clear rules and routines, and find it easy to understand instructions.
• You work well in a team and take a great personal responsibility for your tasks and for solving any problems that arise.
• Since the work is carried out in a safety service, you need to be able to communicate and understand instructions fluently in Swedish.

To work as a shunter driver with us at Green Cargo, you need to meet the following basic requirements:

• Be at least 20 years old (requirement from the Swedish Transport Agency to apply for a driver's license)
• Be able to present an approved diploma from upper secondary education or equivalent education at SeQF level 4.
• Be physically and mentally fit for the job
• Have normal color vision
• Be able to work irregular shift work
• Be physically and mentally fit for work
• Driver's license (B)
