About the operation

The Neuropsychiatry area is one of five adult psychiatric areas responsible for patients with neuropsychiatric disabilities, eating disorders, deaf psychiatry, memory disorders, Huntington's disease, geriatric inpatient care, and geriatric mobile teams.

The operation is research-intensive and actively participates in several healthcare education programs. We have close collaboration with other actors involved in patient care and support. In other words, it is a knowledge-intensive organization where we perform varied and important work and where there are good opportunities for personal development.

Ward 81/82 is a geriatric inpatient ward with 16 beds. We care for individuals over 70 years old with psychiatric illnesses such as depression, bipolar disorders, psychoses, and severe anxiety disorders, as well as memory-related diseases with or without BPSD symptoms.

About the position

We are looking for you who want to work as a nurse in psychiatric emergency care. The working hours are day and evening shifts. Several nurses work on the ward and together you will develop care for and with the patient. On the ward, you will be part of a team where care is planned together with the patient, based on individual needs, and with other team members. The team includes doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, dietitians, social workers, and psychologists. Ward 81/82 is an emergency care ward responsible for admissions and discharges around the clock. You will work as the patient-responsible nurse and be ultimately responsible for the patient's care. The nursing work is based on a person-centered approach.

About you

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, specialist nurse in psychiatry, dementia, or geriatrics, or have experience that the employer deems equivalent. You should preferably have a few years of experience.

You have knowledge, competence, experience, and interest in working with our target group. You have a good attitude, understanding, and interest in people. We are looking for someone who easily creates secure professional relationships with patients and relatives. You are confident and stable and can adapt to new situations and prioritize. Furthermore, you should enjoy and be able to collaborate with everyone in the team and be interested in developing and improving care. You should have the ability to work independently and interact with interdisciplinary teams, good interpersonal skills, and strong collaboration, initiative, and organizational skills. Personal suitability will be considered in the hiring process. Interviews will be conducted continuously.

In the event of recruitment of nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introductory program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. In addition, it also includes service in at least two different wards to broaden your competence.
