Do you want to be challenged and develop within a specialist psychiatric service where clinical competence and participation are high?

The Adult Psychiatry Area (VO) in Kristianstad offers specialist psychiatric care in the northeastern and southeastern municipalities of Skåne. We have a large geographical spread, but despite this, our operations are characterized by proximity and short decision-making paths. Within our inpatient care, we have close collaboration and high flexibility between departments, where we are all here to help and support each other. Ward 4 is a general psychiatric ward, which means you have the opportunity to provide psychiatric nursing within the broad spectrum of psychiatry. This means that you will meet individuals with affective disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety issues, crises, substance abuse, and more. Our service also includes care places for user-controlled admissions.

For us, it is important to retain and recruit nurses who want to stay and develop within the organization. In 2023, we started a new introductory program for newly hired nurses that spans over a year to ensure competence and security for new nurses.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In your role as a nurse, you will tailor care according to the patient's needs, where collaboration with the patient's natural network and, for example, care neighbors in the community becomes a natural part of your work. You are also expected to lead the nursing work. In addition, tasks include monitoring health status, assessing nursing needs, offering support conversations and counseling, medication management, and documentation.

Working in psychiatric inpatient care provides valuable experiences that you can use throughout your career. In addition to becoming an expert in interaction, you will have time for each patient and play a key role in psychiatric nursing. With us, you will have time to reflect on your work and the meetings with patients together with other colleagues in the team. Many patients in psychiatric inpatient care have a high degree of comorbidity, which gives you the opportunity to work and develop both in psychiatric and somatic care. We work with low-arousal approaches to reduce the use of coercive measures. Person-centered care is the focus, and each patient has two to three contact persons who, together with the patient, develop a care plan.

We encourage you to enjoy working with care development in various forms of improvement work. On the wards, teams consisting of nursing assistants, nurses, social workers, doctors, medical secretaries, and a unit manager work together to provide the best interaction and care quality for our patients. With us, as a nurse, you will participate in the development of care content within our inpatient care, such as person-centered care, domestic violence, suicide prevention work, and much more. To ensure a safe start with us, we offer you, as a newly hired nurse, an individually tailored introduction, mentorship, a foundational year including seminars, lectures, and networking opportunities with both new and more experienced colleagues. We have created a mentoring group for you who are a new nurse or new to psychiatry and work with both short- and long-term measures to ensure a good work environment and competence development for the nursing group. Additionally, it may also be relevant for you as a nurse to pursue specialist training within the framework of your employment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are a requirement. We welcome both those with extensive experience and those who are newer in their nursing role. We consider it an advantage if you have experience working in psychiatry and/or specialist training in psychiatry. Likewise, if you have experience working in the systems Melior and/or Mina Planer.

When it comes to personal qualities, we prefer that you are calm and secure in your professional role. In your work, you are flexible and have a quality-conscious and positive attitude. As you are expected to lead nursing work, there are also requirements for a good ability to plan and structure your work, as well as the ability to take a broader perspective and see the whole in the organization. At the same time, you are a good team player who sees collaboration as a prerequisite for good work. You are attentive to both patients, relatives, and colleagues and contribute to a good work climate in the workgroup. As we are keen to find the right person for the position, we place great importance on personal suitability.
