As a municipal lawyer at the municipal executive office, you will work across the entire municipal group, alongside administrative lawyers in various departments. You will deal with many different areas of law, and your tasks may vary greatly throughout the day. You will participate in supporting the municipality's committees and companies in interpreting and applying the law based on the needs of the operations. You will serve as support to management, operations, and employees so they can feel secure in their assessments.

We are now looking for someone interested in working as a municipal lawyer with a focus on family law and social law, particularly processes under the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), the Care of Abusers Act (LVM), and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS). Guardianship law will also be part of the role. We expect that you will spend at least half of your time on these types of issues.

You will belong to the department of administrative development within the administrative function of the municipal executive office, where law and data protection, information security, management of case management systems and e-archives, strategic information management, and cross-organizational projects are coordinated. You will work in a team with other municipal lawyers but also in close collaboration with the administrative lawyer within the labor market and social services department. Your main placement will be with the department, but you are expected to work closely with the administrative lawyer for part of your time. Responsibilities

As a lawyer in this position, you will among other things:

• Provide advice and support to departments and companies in various legal areas.
• Work generally with administrative law, municipal law, data protection, transparency, and confidentiality.
• Focus particularly on SoL, LVU, LVM, LSS, family law, and guardianship law.
• Represent the municipality in court processes, primarily in the area of social law.
• Plan and conduct training and other competency-enhancing initiatives.
• Draft contracts.
• Monitor developments, coordinate, and participate in networks both internally and externally.
• Handle cases for political decisions.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a law degree (jur.kand. or equivalent). It is an advantage if you have completed a judicial clerkship.

You have several years of work experience in legal work, and it is particularly advantageous if you have worked for a few years with court processes. We would also like you to have experience working in public administration, experience with social law, and knowledge of administrative law, transparency and confidentiality, as well as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We are looking for a communicative municipal lawyer who takes responsibility for their tasks and structures their work efficiently. You demonstrate judgment and stability by making reasonable trade-offs and priorities, even in pressured situations. You work to achieve solutions and results from a holistic perspective, not just from a legal standpoint. The work is varied, and therefore we seek someone who thrives with a flexible working style and can handle multiple issues and cases simultaneously. You can adapt to new situations while also being able to quickly grasp complex issues. You appreciate that we work together and support each other when needed, while also being self-sufficient in your work.
