Nyhemsskolan is a F-9 school that also accommodates adapted primary education.

The school is located close to both the city center and to forests and nature.

From preschool to year 9, approximately 550 students attend, and there are 2 after-school care departments with about 100 children enrolled. Your future tasks

Nyhemsskolan is looking for a driven, engaged, and structured leader and teacher responsible for our special education group. In this role, you will have the main responsibility for planning, coordinating, and leading the work with teaching and methods, based on research and proven experience. The role also includes teaching and actively participating in the school's student health work. Mentorship may be included.

Your focus will be to create a clear planning and a working method that meets our students' unique needs while considering the school's conditions and values. As the head of the school's special education group, you are expected to lead and inspire your colleagues, as well as motivate the team to ensure high quality in teaching.

Together with the school's student health team and teachers, you will work on tasks such as educational investigations, action programs, analyses at the organizational, group, and individual levels, guidance of staff, work in student groups that need special support, and being a driving force in the development of adapted teaching.

Who are you?

You need to enjoy taking on a large responsibility and creating and maintaining relationships with both staff and students and guardians. You are clear in your communication and have good collaborative skills, contributing to creating engagement in the group.

You are good at organizing, keeping schedules, and are well acquainted with the school's governing documents as well as current research in the special education field. As a person, you are stable and structured.

We are looking for you who:

• Are a licensed teacher
• Have good collaborative skills and can work structured according to established plans
• Have experience leading and inspiring colleagues
• Are proactive and can develop working methods and teaching to meet students' different needs

It is also meritorious if you have worked in a special education group.
