The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Nereby operates in Harestad and Bergsjön. We conduct differentiated and high-quality school, care, and treatment work. The operation includes a variety of professions, such as teachers, treatment pedagogues, psychologists, nurses, and more. SiS Youth Home Nereby accommodates both school-age and non-school-age boys with psychosocial issues, as well as criminal behavior and substance abuse.
Job Description
Are you motivated by helping young people/clients in a vulnerable life situation? Do you also enjoy organizing, leading, and planning? Apply for the position of group leader at SiS! As a group leader, you contribute to a safe and secure environment for both placed children and young people/clients as well as employees. In this role, you actively participate in the operational care and treatment work on the department. You are responsible for planning, operationally leading, and distributing the daily work. You act as a role model and promote that the work is conducted legally and in accordance with applicable governing documents, methods, and set goals. You keep the unit manager on your department updated on issues that may affect the work environment, care, and treatment environment, or deficiencies in operations. Introduction and guidance of new employees are also part of your work. You will be part of a team with the unit manager and treatment secretary, and you will collaborate closely to achieve good results together.
SiS Youth Home Nereby is now looking for a secure, clear, and engaged group leader for our unit at Trappan in Bergsjön.
As a group leader at SiS, you play a key role in creating safety and structure in the daily lives of placed young people, clients, and your colleagues. With a focus on collaboration and operational leadership, you are responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading the daily work on the department. In the role of group leader, you work closely with your colleagues, guide and strengthen their ability to take responsibility and collaborate. You are a role model and contribute to a professional approach characterized by SiS's core values – respect, care, and clarity.
Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in the role of group leader, you are motivated by working with and helping people in vulnerable life situations. The operational work and meeting with young people/clients are your primary focus. You are good at planning, organizing, and prioritizing work effectively and are clear in your communication with others. At the same time, you are attentive and affirming in your interactions with young people/clients and colleagues and are good at building relationships. You have a professional approach and a good ability to collaborate and empathize with others' perspectives. The work can sometimes be challenging and requires you to be stable and remain calm even in stressful situations. You will have managerial responsibility and act as deputy institutional manager if required.
You should also have:
- A university degree of at least 180 higher education credits with a focus on social, health, or behavioral sciences
- Several years of relevant work experience within SiS or another organization focused on care, treatment, and safety, such as social services, health and treatment, correctional services, or other relevant fields.
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both written and spoken.
- A valid driver's license (B)
Meritorious:
- Previous experience in a supervisory position

Employment:
The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
