Treatment Assistants Wanted at SiS Youth Home Fagared

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. No matter where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.

SiS Youth Home Fagared receives non-school-age boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. We have departments in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg.

Job Description

SiS Youth Home Fagared is now seeking treatment assistants for summer vacancies in our departments in Lindome. In the departments in Lindome, we work to implement closed youth care for the target group of boys who have been sentenced to a criminal penalty according to the law on closed youth care. We also have a treatment department with a specially enhanced mission where we receive young people with extensive psychiatric and neuropsychiatric issues, including a combination of autism, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, PTSD, self-harming behavior, and severe outwardly aggressive behavior.

The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth to new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our youth and are responsible for the foundation of daily life, such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Since SiS Youth Home Fagared receives young people who have been sentenced to a criminal penalty according to the law on closed youth care, it means that you need to work with a high level of risk and safety awareness. You contribute to maintaining safety in accordance with our written instructions and routines.

This is a job for you who can stand firm, creating safety and security in the often very difficult life situations of the youth. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Our core values are Respect, Care, and Clarity.

We want to reward you who help us during the summer period, so those working full-time as monthly employed substitutes for more than four weeks will receive a bonus.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformation. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and the ability to create good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in stressful situations.

Requirements:

  • Completed and approved high school education
  • B driver's license
  • Very good Swedish in speech and writing as the job may involve some documentation and contact with other authorities
  • Experience in youth-related work or work with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., from psychiatry, HVB operations, or from care and support. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Employment:

The position is a fixed-term employment for a summer substitute. It is desirable and advantageous if you can start working as a part-time employee before the summer period.

Working Hours:

Irregular working hours according to schedule. Either day, evening, and weekend shifts, or night shifts on weekdays and weekends.

As a summer substitute, you will undergo a tailored introductory training of 3 days. You must be able to participate in this introductory training to work with us.
