About Us

The Pain Team Västra Götaland is a new initiative within the Västra Götaland region for the treatment of non-malignant chronic pain in individuals over 18 years of age.

The service started in January 2025 and is intended for patients who require a specialized and interdisciplinary treatment approach.

Care will be provided physically and digitally throughout the region. The service will have interdisciplinary treatment teams and the capacity to deliver a complete basic offering of specialized pain care. We strive to provide equitable care regionally and will therefore standardize the treatment offerings based on the best available knowledge. Treatment interventions will occur individually and in groups. Employees will play an important role in the development of the service.

We are now seeking a physiotherapist for the establishment of the unit in Uddevalla, where we will be located at Uddevalla Hospital. The service will be operated in close collaboration with the Pain Center East at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, which has primary responsibility for medical assessments and pharmacological treatment. The Pain Team Västra Götaland has a close collaboration with the Primary Care Research and Development Unit and the Sahlgrenska Academy.

About the Job

You will participate in the ongoing development and design of the service together with other employees and the managers. Other professionals in the team include a social worker, occupational therapist, psychologist, and physician.

As a physiotherapist in the team, you will conduct assessments for rehabilitation and work with individually tailored treatment, group therapy, and group education together with the rest of the team. Assessments and rehabilitation can occur both physically and digitally. You will also participate in the team's work around the patient, including team meetings and rehabilitation meetings as needed.

If interested, there is also the possibility to take on a coordinating role within the assignment.

About You

We are looking for a licensed physiotherapist. Experience in pain management, primary care, or adult psychiatry is desirable, as is training for physiotherapists in the treatment of chronic pain and/or mental health issues. Experience in digital care and digital tools, as well as several years of experience in the profession, is also preferred.

Interest in and preferably experience with teamwork is important, as is the ability to assess patients' rehabilitation potential and summarize this in writing. Security in the professional role, enjoyment of teamwork, and a biopsychosocial perspective are important qualities. Flexibility, good collaboration skills, and the ability to see the whole and the best interests of the organization are highly valued. We place great importance on personal suitability.
