Your Role
The Manufacturing Engineering Structural Subassemblies section within Fighter Production is responsible for industrialization, production engineering preparation, and workshop support for hull assembly. In our production, thousands of holes are drilled daily, primarily manually. Therefore, we are looking for a driven and knowledgeable cutting engineer who wants to strengthen our capabilities in cutting processes and tools - an important investment for the future of Fighter Production.
As a cutting engineer with us, you will be a key person in the development of our production methods. The tasks consist of quality assurance, cost optimization, and failure analysis of cutting processes in our production. The assignments involve manual, semi-automatic, and automatic processes and concern drilling in several different combinations of materials.
Your work will include:
- Quality assurance, cost optimization, and failure analysis of cutting processes in manual, semi-automatic, and automatic processes, focusing on drilling in various material combinations.
- Defining cutting tools based on requirements
- Participating in and conducting qualifications of cutting tools
- Ensuring that selected cutting tools meet product requirements as well as quality and performance requirements
- Acting as a cutting technical competence support to workshops, production engineering, and purchasing
- Evaluating and implementing new tool concepts/methods
- Conducting market analyses and keeping updated on the latest technical advancements in the field.
You will collaborate closely with the production and purchasing departments as well as our suppliers, both to introduce new technology and to support existing production sections. You will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining standards and operational documents.
Your Profile
You are an experienced engineer in production technology, preferably with experience in cutting technology. You have the ability to lead and distribute work in both large and small projects and are expected to take a leading role in cutting technology and production development. Experience in leadership and project management as well as professional experience from an international environment is advantageous.
As a person, you are driven, innovative, and engaged, with a strong desire to develop and learn new things. Since the work often occurs in teams, it is important that you communicate clearly and structured. The role involves many contact points, both internally and externally, which requires good collaboration skills and a pronounced social competence. As we collaborate with international suppliers, good knowledge of English, both spoken and written, is a prerequisite for the role.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in certain cases, entail requirements for specific citizenship.
