Information Security Architect at the Defence Staff CIO

The Defence Staff CIO is looking for you who want to work at a strategic level in one of Sweden's largest authorities as an information security architect focusing on internal compliance. You will support the organization in interpreting and fulfilling IT-related requirements, including information security, architecture, and design for infrastructure and services. You will participate and be part of the authority's digitalization journey and work on security for future modern technical solutions, which includes developing regulations and interpretations. We realize the IT strategy by directing and guiding the development, operation, and management of group IT and IT in material systems.

The overall purpose of the work is to ensure that the Swedish Armed Forces' IT contributes as effectively as possible to both the daily operations of the authority and to the ability to defend Sweden and our allies.

Main Responsibilities

Along with others in the department, you will participate in the development and application of architectural principles and architectural governance. In accordance with the authority's regulations and long-term strategic directions, you will be involved in directing and guiding system architecture and security in the development of the authority's information systems.

You will:

• Prepare documentation for the approval of systems according to the authority's IT process. This includes requesting security reviews, or alternatively conducting reviews yourself, and implementing the results.
• Disseminate knowledge and educate about IT and security regulations in the Swedish Armed Forces through various forms of communication and educational activities.
• With your expertise in IT and security, handle referrals and other matters.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Academic degree in IT and security or other relevant education deemed equivalent.
• Several years of current and relevant work experience in system architecture and security in larger process-oriented organizations.
• Several years of documented work experience in requirements work related to information and IT security linked to information systems.
• Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in official Swedish, as well as the ability to adapt your message to the audience.

Personal Qualities

You will represent the Defence Staff CIO both within and outside the Swedish Armed Forces, which means you have the ability to collaborate and build trusting relationships with other organizations. You can drive your work independently but can also act as a team player in a larger context. You are unpretentious, which means you are receptive to others' opinions. DESIRABLE

• Experience working within the Swedish Armed Forces and good knowledge of the Armed Forces' organization.
• Completed the Swedish Armed Forces' IT Security Manager training or other relevant education deemed equivalent.
• Several years of experience working with security services in the Swedish Armed Forces.
• Experience in security protection work.
• Experience in steering information security work through, for example, management of information systems.
• Experience working with the ISO 27000 series or equivalent.
• Certifications in information security such as CISSP or CISM.

At the Headquarters, there is the Chief of Defence and the Director General. The Headquarters has approximately 1,000 employees – both professional officers and civilian experts. As of 2023-01-01, the Headquarters consists of the Defence Staff, the Operations Command, the Military Intelligence and Security Service, as well as the Headquarters' Staff Department and independent supervisory units.
