The reception has a well-functioning staff group with great commitment, passionate about daily work and the development of cancer care. The assignment involves treating patients with surgical cancer diagnoses, and the catchment area is central and southern Dalarna. The operation is in constant development and is moving to newly built and well-adapted premises in 2025.

The need for cancer care is increasing, as people live longer with their cancer diagnoses thanks to better treatment options. At the reception, patients with urological cancer, breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, and skin cancer are primarily cared for.

The staff group consists of 2 ST doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, and a department manager. Two of the clinic's secretaries are also part of the team. The oncologists are consultants who regularly come from Uppsala, Gävle, and Västerås. We offer an ST doctor position based in Falun, which is a permanent full-time position starting by agreement. We apply individual salary setting.

As an ST doctor in oncology primarily based in Falun, you will work at our oncology reception in Falun, where you will meet patients with oncological diseases in outpatient care. At the oncology reception in Falun, we ensure a good connection to neighboring operations to create good cooperation between different professions. The ST doctors will be linked to the surgical clinic. Introduction within respective tumor groups as well as inpatient care and radiation therapy will take place at the Academic Hospital in Uppsala.

The main responsibility for the ST training lies with the Oncology section at Blood and Tumor Diseases at the Academic Hospital. You will receive a tailored ST plan and access to a clinical supervisor in both Uppsala and Falun. Opportunities for additional training will be available in Falun.

As a person, you are convincing, inspiring, and can motivate colleagues in a changing environment where high demands are placed on patient safety and good medical care. You can take initiative and start activities as well as make decisions. You have good collaboration skills and find it easy to express yourself in speech and writing. You are interested in research and development. Previous service at Falu Hospital is an advantage.
