The Medical Association in Stockholm is now looking for an engaged treasurer to be responsible for the financial operations of the association and its foundations, contributing to a stable and transparent economic foundation for student life at Karolinska Institute.

About us

The Medical Association (MF) was founded in 1877 and is the largest of the two student unions at Karolinska Institute (KI). Our members consist of students at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. MF represents the interests of students within Karolinska Institute, advocates for the quality and development of education, and actively works to strengthen the community among students through a rich association life.

About the role

As a treasurer, you have a central and strategic role within the Medical Association. You have overall responsibility for the financial operations of both the association and our affiliated foundations. You work closely with the board, committees, and sections to ensure transparency, stability, and good financial governance. Your work is crucial for enabling the long-term development and operations of the association.

Main responsibilities

  • Ongoing bookkeeping, invoicing, and payment management
  • Financial reporting to the boards of the association and the foundations
  • Budgeting, year-end closing, and preparation of annual reports
  • Administration of financial systems and related software
  • Support for members in questions about costs, taxes, and bookkeeping

We are looking for someone who

  • Has experience or education in finance/accounting
  • Is meticulous, self-driven, and has good collaborative skills
  • Communicates fluently in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Has good computer skills, preferably experience with Fortnox
  • Has an interest in student issues and volunteer engagement

Previous experience in association life is an advantage but not a requirement.

Employment and conditions

Location: The primary workplace is the Student House in Solna, Nobels väg 10.

Scope: Part-time, permanent employment (with a 6-month probationary period)

Working hours: Daytime, some evening work may occur
