Position as Lead Teacher in After-School Care
The position is located within the Education Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. Your Responsibilities
As a teacher in after-school care, you are responsible for the education in the after-school program by contributing to the realization of the curriculum's goals and intentions in the operation. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and documenting the pedagogical work in the after-school program.
The assignment as a lead teacher in after-school care involves working to develop the education within the operation. In addition to the role of teacher in after-school care, the following general assignments apply for lead teachers in after-school care:
- Guide (coach) and support colleagues to develop and work towards a high and equitable quality in the operation.
- Be a mentor for future teachers in after-school care during their ongoing education.
- Lead processes that develop collegial learning.
- Stay informed about current research and work to ensure it is used in the operation/teaching.
- Work to develop teaching based on scientific principles and proven experience.
In this position, you will be a team leader for colleagues in after-school care.
Time for the assignment is allocated in dialogue with the responsible principal, but at least 10% of the working time.
Your Workplace
Ånestad School is located in a picturesque area south of Linköping's center in the Berga-Vimanshäll area. Ånestad School is a K-9 school divided into two units, grades K-6 and 7-9. Ånestad School K-9 has a total of about 650 students, mainly from the local area. We are about 100 colleagues working to ensure that our students thrive and achieve good academic results. We are a multifaceted operation characterized by commitment, creativity, dynamism, and joy. In grades K-6, we have about 340 students distributed across two classes per grade.
The school's after-school care consists of a total of five departments, with grade-specific programs for students in grades K-3 and after-school care for students in grades 4-6. At the school, we have close collaboration and work broadly between classes, grades, and operations. In after-school care, we systematically work with planning and development of the operation. With the help of annual cycles, we work with the curriculum's knowledge areas and the abilities that students should have the opportunity to develop.
We offer a workplace where we focus on school development based on maximum learning, equity, enthusiasm, and engagement. With good knowledge, qualified teachers with high competence, and great commitment, we continually develop the operation's working methods to achieve higher goal fulfillment for all students. Our goal is for every school day to be the best. One area of development we are focusing on is our recess activities and outdoor environment, where after-school care has a significant responsibility together with our well-being leaders.

Who You Are
You who are applying have a teaching license for after-school care. As a lead teacher in after-school care, you have several years of well-recommended previous experience in the role of a primary teacher in after-school care. You have a particularly good ability to improve students' results and a strong interest in developing teaching. It is meritorious if you have experience as a team leader, lead teacher, or other leadership experience.
You have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is because you, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), must organize and implement the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development and is responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.
It is also meritorious if you have experience with a language-developing approach, as Ånestad School is a multicultural school with a strong focus on language development.
In your role as a teacher in after-school care, you have good knowledge of the after-school program's mission and are well acquainted with the after-school program's curriculum and other governing documents. Based on this, you have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the education. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for students' development and learning, as well as the documentation of the same. As a teacher in after-school care, you are a good role model. You are relationship-building and collaborate well with the contacts that occur in your professional role, adapted to the situation.
