Team Coordinator for Operations and Maintenance

The City Property Management creates environments where life can thrive by planning, building, renting, managing, and developing premises and outdoor environments for the City of Gothenburg's operations. Every day, hundreds of thousands of Gothenburg residents are active in preschools, schools, care homes, and other premises that we manage.

Together with the City Environment Administration, the Exploitation Administration, and the City Planning Administration, we have a coordinated responsibility for urban development in the City of Gothenburg. This means a shared distribution of responsibilities and roles based on phases: planning; implementation; and management with the aim of contributing to a cohesive, efficient, and transparent urban development for residents, visitors, and businesses in the city.

JOB DESCRIPTION

At the Operations and Maintenance department, we are responsible for supervision, repair, and operation of the areas of outdoor environment, buildings, and installations over time with good technical status and satisfied tenants. This is achieved through close collaboration with tenants, the management's other departments, and other organizations in the city. The department is responsible for carrying out inspections required by authorities and contributes to the development of energy-saving measures. We perform the assignments requested by our tenants. The assignment for the construction operational area mainly involves working with supervision and maintenance, repairs, customer assignments, and maintenance tasks on the management's buildings.

Your tasks:

In the role of team coordinator, you will guide and coach the unit's employees in their daily work. The employees consist of property technicians, carpenters, plumbers, and electricians. The position includes coordinating and implementing measures as well as control within supervision and maintenance, repairs, customer assignments, and maintenance tasks in collaboration within the management and with our tenants. You will also be responsible for planning and following up on the unit's operational work such as staffing, case management, operational rounds, and construction assignments. You ensure and follow up on routines from both an economic perspective and an operational perspective. In the role of team coordinator, you will act as technical support and a sounding board for the unit manager, project leaders, team coordinators, property technicians, managers, and externally to our customers within the city's various administrations and districts.

The work as a team coordinator involves close contact with the management's other employees, customers, and external contractors. You actively participate in user meetings, reference groups, and similar and contribute to the development work in the unit by actively participating in the management's work with continuous improvements. An important part of the work will be to coordinate and conduct the introduction of new employees at the unit level.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in construction/property or a combination of secondary education with a focus on construction/property along with work experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have several years of practical experience in construction and/or property management.

For this position, we would like you to have previous experience in leadership. To succeed in the role, you need to have a pedagogical approach, be able to operate in an event-driven environment, and be confident in your interactions with others. We want you to have good IT skills and be structured, as well as have an easy time seeing connections from a holistic perspective. As an employee in the Operations and Maintenance department, you work for the organization's and our tenants' best interests from a holistic perspective.

To be successful as a team coordinator, you need to be meticulous, structured, responsible, unpretentious, cooperative, and have a constructive questioning approach. As a person, you are outgoing and can work independently. You will work closely with your colleagues, which means that good collaboration skills are something we value.
