Paramedic Wanted

We are looking for someone who wants to work in a varied environment with us in the ambulance service.

The changes occurring within healthcare processes and in society lead to increased demands on the breadth of medical competence. Prehospital, we should have the competence to provide good, effective, and safe close care to all citizens. This may involve prehospital care for patients of all ages who may be affected by breathing and circulation, unconsciousness, pain, delivering mothers, and/or mental instability. In ambulance care, patients are assessed, examined, and treated on-site and/or during transport to a healthcare facility. The ambulance service also includes transporting patients between healthcare facilities locally, regionally, and nationally.

Paramedics and ambulance nurses work in various interprofessional teams with doctors and other essential community actors, such as RAPS blue actors and emergency department staff. In ambulance care, there is a requirement for ambulance personnel with specialist competence in prehospital care. You will work day/evening/night/weekend.

About You

We are looking for a licensed nurse with experience in patient-centered work and an interest in ambulance care. You need to be flexible and enjoy that no day is the same. As a person, you are secure and stable but have the ability to quickly change pace. You want to make a difference for people in their daily lives and when there is an urgent need for help. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, empathetic ability, and collaboration.

You are an experienced driver and have a B driver's license; C/C1 is an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have a specialist education in ambulance care, emergency care, or intensive care. The profession requires good physical condition, and only after passing physical tests will you undergo introductory training. The goal of the ambulance service is to assess the patient, treat if necessary, and refer to the appropriate level of care. Within the ambulance service, there are resources such as emergency ambulances, light care ambulances, and a bus that transports patients between the county's hospitals and the Regional Hospital in Linköping. The ambulance service in Region Kalmar County has over 200 employees. During the summer months, the population increases due to tourists and events in the county.

The County Hospital in Kalmar is one of three hospitals in Kalmar County. The hospital is an emergency hospital with specialist care, maternity care, and postnatal care. Here, over 2,300 people work to provide good care and high patient safety to the county's residents.
