The Eye Care Department in Skåne primarily operates within accredited care options. The Open Care Option in eye care and cataract care is conducted at the clinic in Helsingborg along with highly specialized eye care.

The Eye Unit, which is part of the Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) department, is a facility with both acute and planned outpatient care as well as outpatient surgeries. We are about 60 employees consisting of doctors, nurses, orthoptists, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, and receptionists. The clinic offers a wide range of services including general ophthalmology and subspecialties in cataract and glaucoma surgery, glaucoma, medical retina, pediatric ophthalmology, and neuro-ophthalmology.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for an engaged orthoptist who wants to be part of our team!

As an orthoptist with us, you will be part of a care team consisting of an orthoptist, optometrist, and ophthalmologist. Additionally, you will closely collaborate with other staff at the clinic. In the role of an orthoptist, you will be responsible for and manage your own clinic, which includes the following tasks:

• Preparatory examinations of children and adults with strabismus issues prior to doctor visits.
• Clinic work with vision and amblyopia checks.
• Prism treatments as well as follow-up and prescription of prism glasses.
• Assessment of children with low visual acuity and possibly multiple disabilities.
• Neurological/orthoptic investigations, diagnosis, and diplopia analysis.
• Eye motility disorders in connection with endocrine ophthalmopathy.
• Collaboration with Child Health Centers through education, counseling, and observation.
• Pre- and post-operative checks.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who have an approved orthoptist degree with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s level scale are required.
