At the hematology departments in Lund, we care for patients primarily with malignant blood diseases, where stem cell transplantation is an important part of the treatment. Our team consists of nurses, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, and doctors working together. We have a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and dietitian as part of our fantastic team. Working in the team is inspiring as patients feel seen, acknowledged, and well cared for. We have a fantastic cohesion that provides security, and we all see ourselves as important pieces of the puzzle that together create and develop our workplace. We work on development projects within nursing and nursing research. Our departments are among the first pilot departments within the Magnet Model, which is characterized by working for a good work environment and nursing.

We have a strong sense of community on the department among all different professions and also very good relationships with our patients of varying ages. Our nurses testify that it is an exciting area where one continuously develops. We care for each other, so when the pace is high, we always help each other!

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you have a central role for our patients. Some of our patients are seriously ill and require highly specialized care, which gives you broad experience. During a typical shift, you and a nursing assistant are responsible for four to five patients.

Our unit is in an exciting phase where we have opened a new form of day care, which offers more opportunities for our patients to receive parts of their treatment outside of inpatient care. The day care is run by a team from inpatient care, where you as a nurse have the opportunity to further broaden your competence.

We care about ensuring that you as a new employee transition into your role smoothly; therefore, you are welcomed with a well-structured introduction program. Once the introduction is complete, you will continue to receive support from a personal mentor in the form of an experienced colleague. We offer continuous professional development for all staff, both with internal and external training. If personally interested, there is an opportunity to study to become a specialist nurse in cancer care.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required.

As a person, you have a positive attitude and see things from a bright side. You show care for both patients and colleagues and are eager to learn new things. As we value our good atmosphere, we place great importance on personal suitability.
